Choral Concert - In Memoriam

In November of 2021, the Cathedral Basilica Choir lost one of its most treasured members, Marco Panuccio. Marco was a beloved operatic tenor whose career took him all over the country and the world. This concert will feature some of his favorite composers (and ours) as we pay tribute to our friend and colleague.

Advent Lessons and Carols

The annual Advent Carol Service sung by the Choir of Saint Peter in Chains Cathedral Basilica featuring seasonal choral music with the O Antiphon chants and handbells mark the beginning of the Advent season.

Cincinnati Brass Band

Since its founding in 1993, the Cincinnati Brass Band has been delighting audiences with their signature sound in the British brass band tradition. Proclaimed as the “Official Brass Band of Cincinnati” for their contributions to the musical culture of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Brass Band performs in multiple venues throughout the Cincinnati region.

Described as “phenomenal” (The Times) and “devastatingly beautiful” (Gramophone Magazine), award-winning choir Tenebrae is one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles, renowned for its passion and precision.

Under the direction of Nigel Short, Tenebrae performs at major festivals and venues around the globe, including the BBC Proms, Wigmore Hall, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Rheingau Musik Festival and Sydney Festival. ‘Passion and Precision’ are Tenebrae’s core values. 

Tickets are $50 for adults, $20 for students (with ID at the door).

The Ancient Office of Tenebrae

Tenebrae, Latin for “darkness” is a special holy week liturgy featuring passiontide music spanning medieval through twentieth century chant and polyphony including Gregorio Allegri’s sublime setting of Psalm 51, Miserere  sung by the Cathedral Basilica choir.
