The parking lots that are managed by Park Place Parking, and sit right next to the cathedral at 7th & Plum Streets and 7th & Central Streets, are free for our guests for the Sunday and Weekday Masses. This includes the Vigil Mass on Saturdays. It is also free for our guests for weekend and evening events such as weddings, confirmations, graduations, and concerts.
It is not free for our guests any other time, for example confessions, Lunch with the Lord, or graduations that are held during the day.
The cost to park in the lots is $6. Please pay at the parking kiosk or use the cell phone app (displayed on the signs in the back lot) to pay for parking.
NOTE: The spots in the back lot marked STAFF are always for Cathedral employees only with a valid STAFF parking pass. All others will be ticketed or towed.
The parking meters on the streets surrounding the cathedral are in effect every day of the week from 9am-9pm. They are 2 hour meters and are $3 per hour. They accept coins and credit cards.
There is handicap accessibility to the cathedral via an elevator on the south side of the cathedral off of the Parking Co. of America lot. It is about midway back the lot. There are no handicap designated parking spaces; the sign near the elevator is there to direct folks to the elevator.
If there are no parking spaces available near the elevator, the option would then be to drop individuals at the elevator and park elsewhere.
The elevator enters in at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. The main sanctuary is just to the left of that entrance. The confessionals are located in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, and that is where the Weekday Masses are held as well.
The handicap accessible bathroom is in the undercroft. The elevator goes down to that level and the bathroom is just to the right off of the elevator.
There is plenty of space to park a wheelchair along the outside aisles (in both the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and the main sanctuary). Please sit as close to the front as possible and contact a sacristan or usher prior to the start of Mass so a Eucharistic Minister can know to serve Holy Communion directly to where the wheelchair is parked.
Please enjoy your visit to the cathedral. The cathedral is a downtown parish where parking is sometimes difficult, and was last renovated in the 1950s, so please be understanding in our limitations.
