It's that time of year! The GIVING time! Please read below to learn more about our Giving Trees here at the cathedral. They are up in church! Please choose an ornament (which represents a gift) or more if you are able ... Please wrap each gift and attach the ornament to it then bring it to the December 14th and 15th Masses. If you would also like to help deliver the gifts on December 21st, call 260-2270.
The Cathedral/St. Xavier Conference of St. Vincent de Paul goes above and beyond all year, but especially at Christmas. As they visit families, they truly get to know our neighbors in need and are able to collect lists of gift items these families could use in order to celebrate in a special way at Christmas ... in a way they otherwise could not afford. Then at the end of November, the volunteer Vincentians set up Giving Trees in the cathedral. Each ornament on the trees represents a gift item to be purchased specifically for one of our downtown neighbors.
The wrapped gifts are collected a week or so before Christmas, and just days before December 25th the Vincentians deliver the gifts. Please look for the Giving Trees each Advent and consider helping to make Christmas a little merrier and brighter for a neighbor in need. We also ask that you please pray for our loyal Vincentians and the families they serve.
